A short drive on the Pali Highway and through a residential area will lead to the trailhead of Maunawili Falls. An easy 20 to 30 minute hike across a river-bed and through a distiguishable trail will end in series of beautiful pools and a small waterfall.
Climbing up the a small and narrow trail on the very left side will position you above the falls where you can take a 10 foot plummet in the the pool below. Be careful during any jump attempts to center yourself and pushing off the slippery rock face.
Like most fresh water pools in Oahu there is always the danger of leptospirosis. Avoid swimming if you have any open cuts, take a good shower or jump in the ocean after the hike to protect yourself.
