Hookipa Beach

Now known as one the top locations in the world for windsurfing Hookipa Beach Park attracts pros from all over the world.

Also a top location for surfers the waves here are consistently good throughout the winter months and many tourists visit the beach as spectators. You should only enter the water here if you are of expert ability since the bottom is covered in dangerous reef and rapid currents move throughout the area.

The beach park is located at the beggining of the Road to Hana also known as highway 36 approximetly half way between the 8 and 9 mile markers. It is relatively easy to spot the constant flow of traffic arriving and leaving the parking lot.

Body board and windsurfing rentals are available in the area but people unfamiliar with the area may be more comfortable trying there skill at nearby HA Baldwin Bech or Spreckelsville Beach. Both the these beaches are located roughly 2 to 3 miles before Hookipa Beach Park and are easily accessed from the road.
